This client came to me with a pre-designed website. The web-designer that they were working with had spent months working on the site but never delivered it. This sadly happens a lot. I had to create a custom website based on what the previous person did. The client needed custom places for their regular guest bloggers to appear on the front page. We tied those images to their specific posts. This client also needed room for advertising banners so we created those as well. All of these different elements are easily changeable within the WordPress platform.
